Evening Reflection - A Calming Prayer and Meditation
As we wind down for the evening, let’s engage in a calming prayer and meditation exercise, followed by an invitation to share our personal practices for finding peace.
Calming Meditation Exercise:
- Find a quiet, comfortable space.
- Close your eyes and take three deep, slow breaths.
- Envision a place that brings you peace. It could be a beach, a forest, a favorite room, or any space that calms you.
- Imagine yourself in this place. Focus on the details – the sounds, the smells, the feeling.
- As you settle into this vision, recite the following prayer, or one of your choosing, silently or aloud:
Prayer for Peace: "Heavenly Father, in this moment of stillness, I seek Your peace. Surround me with Your calming presence and fill my heart with tranquility. Guide me to live in harmony with Your will, and grant me the wisdom to focus on Your love and grace. Amen."
- After the prayer, sit quietly for a few minutes, letting the peace of God wash over you.
- Gently open your eyes when you're ready.
